Alejandro Bilbao La Vieja Ruiz is a Bolivian diplomat, attorney, and international affairs strategist committed to strengthening cultural and hemispheric connections across the Americas. He served as Chargé d’Affaires of Bolivia to the United States, leading initiatives that deepened dialogue, cooperation, and cultural exchange between both countries. Among his contributions, he played a key role in securing U.S. recognition of Singani and the Vischoqueña grape, emblematic elements of Bolivia’s viticultural and culinary heritage that helped build an enduring cultural bridge between the two nations. Alejandro is the Founder and Principal of Bilbao La Vieja Consulting, based in Washington, DC, where he advises governments, international organizations, and private entities on diplomacy, international law, and strategic cooperation. He also lectures on Latin American political thought, international cooperation, and foreign policy.
