FAMA invites you to our Members-Only Event: Enjoy refreshments and remarks by Adriana Ospina, director of the Art Museum of the Americas (AMA) in our sunny loggia. Then enjoy tours of two new exhibitions led by very special guests: “The Skin of Discomfort” with Chilean artist Paola Podesta and “The Invisible Prison: Imprisoned Artists of the Americas” with OAS Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression Pedro Vaca Villarreal.The exhibition of colorful textile patchworks by Paola Podestá of Valparaíso, Chile, addresses issues such as feminism, fracking, the depletion of natural resources, immigration, and mental health. “The Invisible Prison: Imprisoned Artists of the Americas” brings together artists who create from Cuban prisons.

Your membership donation goes directly to Friends of the Art Museum of the Americas (FAMA), a nonprofit membership organization that supports exhibitions and educational outreach programs of the Museum.

Accessibility: The first level of the museum is wheelchair accessible; however, the second level of the museum has a winding staircase leading to it. Restrooms in the museum are not accessible, but people are welcome to use the restrooms in our offices next door to the museum, which are accessible.
