– Brazilian Chamber Music at the AMA

The Friends of the Art Museum of the Americas (FAMA) present an Afternoon of Brazilian Chamber Music at the Art Museum of the Americas (AMA) on Sunday, December 4, 2022, 2-4 pm, with musicians of the acclaimed PostClassical Ensemble, featuring music director, Angel Gil-Ordoñez, William Richards, Melissa Wimbash, and Sean MacCarthy-Grant.

The 45-minute music program of vibraphone, marimba, percussion, and voice will present modern and contemporary Brazilian composers Heitor Villa-Lobos, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Ney Rosauro, in AMA’s intimate gallery setting, followed by a Brazilian wine tasting, courtesy of Grand Cata.

The admission price ($50) includes a one-year FAMA membership. Admission is free for current FAMA members

A tour of the Roots of Peace Tunnel Mural, following the concert, is included in the VIP Admission price ($100). The Roots of Peace by Carlos Paez Vilaró, a 530-foot-long underground mural, is one of DC’s hidden wonders!

This is a very special opportunity to become a Friend of the historic gem that is the Art Museum of the Americas!
