FAMA Members-Only Event: Enjoy a cool glass of wine in the loggia followed by an intimate tour of Maria Luisa Pacheco: Geographies of Abstraction—Madrid, La Paz, New York and other exhibitions currently on view with art historian Dr. Olga Herrera.
This exhibition reframes the life and work of Maria Luisa Pacheco (1918-1982), one of the most significant abstract women artists of the Americas in the second half of the twentieth century. An array of paintings, collages, watercolors, sketchbooks, archival memorabilia, personal photographs, and audio, along with interpretative wall labels, contextualize her art in a larger modern art historical narrative. Born in Bolivia, she became a significant figure in post-war Latin American and American art.
The exhibition is organized by AMA | Art Museum of the Americas and is co-curated by Olga U. Herrera and Adriana Ospina.
