Joanne M. Fungaroli

Joanne M. Fungaroli is an attorney licensed by the Bars of Washington, DC, Maryland,
New York, and Pennsylvania. Her 25-year legal career has included work in financial
services, corporate law, restructuring, bankruptcy, insolvency, and litigation, involving
domestic and cross-border matters, with a view toward creative dealmaking, consensus
building, and dispute resolution. She served as Senior Advisor for International Policy
and Corporate Governance for the FDIC and developed, negotiated, and maintained
bilateral and multilateral cross-border working relationships with financial sector
regulators worldwide to underpin financial stability. Fungaroli’s current activities
emphasize nonprofit corporate law and art law, while also pursuing her interests as a
visual artist. She is an active Member of the Arts Club of Washington, the Center for Art
Law, the Washington Water Color Association, and the Maryland Pastel Society. She
also is a Member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the American Alliance
of Museums, the American Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the
Alliance Française of Washington, DC. Fungaroli is a graduate of The American
University, Washington, DC, with a B.A. in international studies and French studies, and
a concentration in African studies. She holds a J.D., with a European legal studies
certificate, and an M.B.A., with a finance concentration, from Tulane University.
